Recreaton of jacket from "Back to the Future II"
« Back to Album | Photo 1 of 2 | Previous | Next |
This recreation of the jacket worn by the character Marty McFly in the film "Back to the Future II" was created for a series of events commemorating the 30th anniversary of the first film in 2015. The original jacket (for reference) can be seen in the upper two photos, and my recreation is at center (with the entire costume shown at bottom). I patterned, cut, and constructed the entire jacket, including the unusual accordion sleeves (held closed with straps attached to interior Velcro fasteners) and the pockets with flaps that could be pulled out as in the original (held in place with hidden interior drawstrings). The entire jacket is lined, and is constructed from both fabric and a variety of "found" materials (plastic shelf liner for the outer shell and painted popsicle sticks glued to craft foam for the cuffs and bottom trim).
